I know that green tea has health benefits, but I don’t enjoy the flavor of it.  I have been drinking green tea for nearly 7 years now.  Here is how I get it done.  Ready?  I add green tea to my herbal tea. Tough, huh?  Dr. Oz has a  powerful metabolism-boosting drink, called Weight-Orade.  I have twisted the recipe, to my liking, by adding herbal tea and lemon. You can use any herbal tea you desire.  I love Celestial Seasoning’s Berry Zinger, but today I’m going with Lemon Zinger.  Per Dr. Oz’s website, green tea is shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup.  The tangerine with a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to BURN FAT.  The mint is a calorie-free flavor enhancer.  I have added the herbal tea and per The New Sonoma Diet to maximize the health benefits of citrus by pairing it with other nutrient rich ingredients.  For example adding lemon juice to green tea increases the staying power of the tea’s antioxidants and makes them even more available for the body to absorb.  So here we go on my caffeine free version.

In a large pitcher, combine:

Stir this delicious concoction up at night so all the flavors fuse together. Drink 1 pitcher daily for maximum metabolism-boosting results.  I use just two drops of Stevia to sweeten the flavor.

    1. Laura,
Thank you for checking out our blog! Four American cups is equal to 0.95 liters. Our tea is one cup to one bag of tea. We used four bags for the recipe.

      Happy tea making.

  1. Thank you for the excellent twist on this drink. It tastes great. I left out the sweetener only because I’m not a big fan of sweets. I was just wondering if you had any personal results from drinking this.

    1. Yes, I have had personal success with this drink. I feel that green tea in general aides weight loss, but I enjoy mixing it up so I don’t get bored drinking it. I feel that the other ingredients have health benefits, but if I’m solely looking for weight loss, I drink green tea with or without the “fluff”. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!

  2. Just a note….White Tea (baby “Green Tea leaves) is higher in antioxidants than Green Tea, is naturally decaffeinated and tastes much better than Green Tea. You might try it in this recipe…

  3. I’ve never liked the taste of coffee I still needed a little pick-me-up in the mornings. And then I started to make Green Tea, absolutely love it chilled!

    1. Thanks for taking the time to see what we have here. We love that you subscribed because we have a few projects in the works!

  4. Would a navel orange do the same as a tangerine? Tangerines are near impossible to find where I live ( a small farm town in Canada) sorry of this is a dumb question

    1. Not a dumb question at all. I’m sure Dr. Oz used a tangerine for a specific reason, but I think any citrus fruit would make a great substitute. Good luck and thanks for the comment!

  5. Out of curiousity is there a caffeine version? Rather than coffee I get my caffeine from iced tea, but definitely feel the withdrawls if I drink caffeine free tea. Any suggestions for a caffinated version?? Thanks this looks great though!!

    1. Just use regular green tea instead of the decaffeinated. Most teas have caffeine in it, including green tea. I hope this helps and good luck waking up in the morning!

  6. How many tea bags do you use per pitcher? I don’t want it to be too weak and then I’m not getting any benefits.

    Thanks!

    1. I use 12 bags total for one 8 cup pitcher of tea. Six bags each of both green and herbal tea.

  7. I like the helpful information you provide in your articles.
I will bookmark your blog and check again here regularly.
I am quite certain I’ll learn many new stuff right here! Best of luck for the next!

  8. hi
I’m thinking of trying this. are you still drinking this? and how are the personal results?

also how long does a pitcher last you?

    1. I ALWAYS see results when I use this tea on a regular basis. A pitcher generally lasts two days. Try it and lets us know how it goes. Thanks for checking out out bog!

  9. I’m looking for a great way to fix tea to curb my appetite while trying to lose some weight. I have found that using lots of ice with unsweetened tea is really good! But, I want to try your recipe. I’m always looking for tips and healthy hints. Thanks! for sharing- your blog is great!

    1. We would love to know how it turns out for you. I love lots of ice in all of my drinks. Last time I made tea, I actually braved the two feet of snow to go out to my garage to get more ice! Let us know if you like this recipe. Thank you for checking out our blog.

  10. I am not a big fresh mint fan and prefer unsweetened tea herbal, green or any kind of tea (catch a lot of flack considering how I like my coffee.. ahem..but I digress) does it matter if I leave the mint or stevia out!!

    1. Dr. Oz doesn’t state that there are any negative side effects, but please check with your physician with any medical questions.

  11. Hi, my mom posted this on Pintrest and I saw it. I was wondering if you had to use green tea or can you black tea. Cannot wait to try this.

  12. I understand it may sound a bit strange asking that question, but the simple
